After reading through my speech evaluations, I learned a lot of things including my strengths and weaknesses. Most of the evaluations were quite helpful because people wrote what I did well and what I need to improve on. One of the classmates wrote that I did well on eye contacts and keeping the volume right. "Your voice was clear and communication was easy; you made nice eye contacts and appropriate volume was used." I believe this is the result of my practice that I had before the speech day. I tried to memorize all my speech in order to give a good eye contact. Adding on, another classmate wrote that I was "most effective in creating the speech humorous. As a listener, I enjoyed listening to the speech. Furthermore, providing speech just after the bell was delightful in way it related with the speech." I felt happy to read this because I tried my best to make the speech enjoyable by adding few humorous points in it including my analogy of flues.
However, there were several weaknesses mentioned too. One of my classmates wrote that I need to work on my fluency. This quite confused me because another classmate, as mentioned above, wrote that I was fluent and had good speech skills. What I guess is that I had few parts where I had some hard time maintaining my speech skills. Many of the classmates stated that I need to be calm while giving my speech and I should not mispronounce words. I felt that I should practice harder, so that I do not make such mistakes. It is true that I had a hard time being natural with the speakers due to the pressure I get from the audience. Despite my efforts to be normal, I felt like I was rushing through, and my audiences felt that well too. I should work harder on being calm and natural. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my speech because I delivered a better speech than I usually did. I will try to make it better next time.
